Meet your friendly neighborhood Co-Founder & General Manager, Michelle! Mama to a 6th grader, wifey to a woodworker, community theater performer and website whisperer, she’s a relationship-builder with a Capricorn sun/Aries moon/Gemini rising who feels weird writing this in the 3rd person.

Where you live: Montclair, NJ
Favorite brunch: Smashed avocado at Bluestone with an oat chai latte.
Fun fact: I won a Judge Judy fan contest by writing an original song about her on my ukulele. You can also spot me in this classic Oprah’s Favorite Things sketch. I’ve also been on Project Runway and Renovation Realities somehow? My life is weird.
Professional background: I was a business coachsultant (as I liked to call it) for 15 years, working with creative women to help them discover, launch & grow their dream businesses. I have my certification as a life coach and a BFA in musical theater from NYU/Tisch School of the Arts.
Shoutout: East Side Mags! My 11 year old has been in their Sat morning class for years and loves it. My husband’s favorite day of the week is the day he can pick up the new comics that are in his pull box. It’s also our go-to stop for gifts, especially for kids + dads. Jeff, the owner, is the best - so friendly, community-focused and inclusive. It’s a Montclairian gem!

Why you co-founded RecRoom: I joke that this all happened because I manifested via complains, but it’s totally true! I became obsessed with the fact that the type of coworking spaces I was a member of in NYC for 10ish years just didn’t exist here. I knew exactly the space that I selfishly needed and knew it would generally benefit my fellow Montclairians and those in the surrounding areas. I’m so proudcited to bring this vision to life!
