2 Community Associates (Part-Time)
About RecRoom
RecRoom is Montclair’s soon-to-be coworking and community hub - a place where entrepreneurs, professionals and creatives can work, connect, and grow.
Our 2,700 sf light-filled space will open on October 30th, and we’re looking for 2 reliable, people-oriented Community Associates to keep the day-to-day running smoothly, support our members, and help us share RecRoom with the wider community.
What You’ll Do
Open: unlock the doors, prep the space, get coffee brewing.
Close (weekends only): tidy the space, refill what’s needed, lock the doors.
Member & Guest Support: welcome members and guests, check people in, answer questions, respond to tickets and emails.
Community Experience: give tours, share information, and help potential members who are considering joining.
Daily Operations: monitor the space for smooth operation and safety, restock supplies, distribute mail, tidy common areas.
Hospitality Touches: prep and clean up coffee, water, snacks, and food.
Content & Communication: load, schedule, and post newsletters, blog articles, events, and content across our websites, social media, email list, community sites, etc. (Extra points if you enjoy writing or design!)
Project Support: Help us open our doors, secure grants, distribute press releases, update mail services, run events and other one-off projects that need a helping hand.
What We’re Looking For
Warm, approachable, and service-minded - you like helping people feel comfortable and welcome.
Reliable and punctual.
Organized problem-solver with an eye for detail.
Comfortable with tech, especially Outlook and Squarespace. Bonus on knowledge of Canva, Archie & Meta Content.
Bonus: skills in writing, design, marketing, sales or project management.
Prior customer service, coworking, hospitality, or community experience is helpful, but not required.
Important Details
📍Location: Lackawanna Station, Montclair, NJ
🕰️ Hours: 7:45 AM–1 PM (Mon–Fri); 9:45 AM–4:15 PM (Sat–Sun) split between 2 people
🤑 Hourly Rate: $23/hr
